Is what I am trying to say is, how do you set up your HDMI cable to your playstation 3 or if you even have to set it up to make the best picture resolution. I have a Samsung HDTV that goes up to 1080p resolution so I want to know if I have to do anything special to be able to use that 1080p resolution.

When you plug a HDMI cable from your HDTV into your PS3 it should automatically adjust to the maximum setting. The cable itself has no settings, it adjusts to the maximum setting between devices. To check if your PS3 is at maximum settings, you can turn your system off, and then press and hold the on/off button for 10 seconds. This will reset the PS3 and will automatically set to the highest setting. Agree to the settings and you will be running in the highest possible output available with your system.
